How a SIP grows

A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) invests a fixed amount every month, usually into mutual funds. You buy more units when prices are low and fewer when they are high, which smooths out market swings.

Two things matter far more than the starting amount: time, and raising your SIP as your income grows. A 10% yearly step-up often adds more to the final figure than doubling the starting amount.

“In today’s money” divides the final figure by inflation over the same period, so you can compare it to prices you know. Projections assume a steady return; real markets go up and down.
